"The system of meditation is not religious, therefore it does not clash with anything. It is designed for the spirit of man which is not bound to any religion."

Shri Shantananda Saraswati

Meditation

Meditation can refer to many types of practices available through many religions and traditions.

The School offers a mantra-based meditation from the Vedic tradition. We provide training and support in the use of a very simple mantra to assist the student's mind to rest and find peace.

Meditation is practiced for a short time in the morning and the evening. The mantra works to gradually settle the body, mind and spirit, freeing them from unneccessary activity and agitation. Students commonly report that the result is a sense of peacefulness, even bliss, that may carry on into daily life.

We offer meditation to students after a period of practice and preparation which lasts approximately eighteen months (5-6 terms).
